Cacak is a city in Serbia located 140 km south of Belgrade. It represents the administrative seat of the Moravica District. Geographically, the city of Čačak is located in the central part of central Serbia in the Moravički District, between the municipalities of Gornji Milanovac in the north and Lučani in the southwest. To the west is the municipality of Požega, which belongs to the Zlatibor district, to the east is the municipality of Knić, which is part of the Šumadin district, and to the southeast is the municipality of Kraljevo, which belongs to the Raš district. The Zapadna Morava river flows through Čačak. It is surrounded by the mountains Ovčar, Kablar, Jelica and Vujan. Suvobor and Maljen are also nearby. The rich history of Čačak has never been thoroughly studied, and historical sites were often destroyed by modern urbanization. The town church and the Gymnasium are located on an exceptional Neolithic site, and the sites on Jelica and Atenica show that Čačak was a very developed settlement at that time. Significant figures from the fields of culture, art, literature, and sports were born in this city. With their work, they marked the epoch in which they created and lived, and among them are Nadežda Petrović, Vladislav Petković Dis, Branko V. Radičević, but also great military leaders such as Vojvoda Stepa Stepanović, Jovan Kursula, Tanasko Rajić and many others.
