The city of Kraljevo has 63,000 inhabitants, while according to the latest census from 2022, the wider urban area of Kraljevo has about 111,491 inhabitants. It is located in the central part of Serbia, at the confluence of the Ibar and Morava, in a basin between the tame Šumadija and harsher Staro Vlača and Kopaonija mountain massifs, at an average altitude of 206 meters. The distant history of the surroundings of Kraljevo, but also the geographical position and individual archaeological discoveries indicate the existence of the settlement as early as 2000 BC. Based on research so far, the oldest traces of material culture come from the Neolithic sites Divlje polje in Ratina and Lađarište in the village of Vrnjci. There are many spa resorts in the vicinity of Kraljevo: Vrnjačka, Mataruška, Bogutovačka and Sirčanska Banja.
