Aleksinac is a town and seat of the municipality of Aleksinac in the Nišava district. The highway passes by Aleksinac, as well as the Belgrade-Nis railway, so it is very easy to get to this place. This road is part of the E75 highway, an important European route that connects Central Europe with the Middle East. A large part of this municipality is lowland, so agricultural production is dominant. Individual and primary production is mainly represented. This is a consequence of the collapse of the large agricultural giant PIK Aleksinac. Among other activities, the private sector in the field of trade and services is prominent. As far as production is concerned, metal processing activity is represented in the small economy (Komak M, Vabis, Start92, Tehnoelektro), and Slovenački Alpos is among the larger companies. According to the latest census from 2022, the municipality of Aleksinac has 43,543 inhabitants, while the settlement of Aleksinac has around 17,000 inhabitants.
