Spa Koviljača is located in western Serbia at an altitude of 128m, in the region called Podrinje after the river Drina that flows through it. The nature of this region is rich and diverse. Jadar, Lešnica, Račevina, Azbukovica contribute to this. Archaeological research has shown that the area of Banja Koviljača was inhabited a long time ago. There are remains that show that there was a large Roman settlement Genzis. In the Middle Ages, under the walls of the city of Koviljka, people visited the springs of healing water en masse. The first written document (1533) originates from that period, where Banja is mentioned as a rural settlement in Bohorina district. About 6,500 inhabitants live in the Banja Koviljača settlement.
