The territory of the municipality of Novi Kneževac covers the extreme northeastern part of Vojvodina and the northernmost part of Banat, with a total area of 305 square kilometers. The northern border of the municipal territory, with a length of 21.2 kilometers, is part of the state border with Hungary. Towards the east, with a length of 14.9 kilometers, the municipality of Novi Kneževac reaches the state border with Romania. The western border is natural and consists of a 28.3-kilometer stretch of the Tisza river. According to data from the latest census from 2022, 8,759 inhabitants live in Novi Kneževac, mostly of Serbian and Hungarian nationality.
