Žagubica is a settlement with about 4,000 inhabitants and the seat of the municipality of the same name in Eastern Serbia and Homolje. It lies on the northern side of Beljanica, on the banks of the clean and clear Mlava river. It is surrounded by still untouched nature, which is dominated by real pearls and natural monuments, which, due to their peculiarities, attract the attention of world experts. The municipality of Žagubica covers a territory of 760 km, with 17 settlements and 4,891 households. According to the latest census from 2022, the municipality of Žagubica has close to 9,855 inhabitants, of which about 15,000 live in the country and 2,000 inhabitants who are temporarily working abroad. Part of the cultural heritage of the population of a region are also home crafts, crafts - especially artistic ones, making souvenirs, folk costumes and folklore. At the same time, these activities are an element of economic development, employment, meeting the needs of the local population, but also in the conditions of developed tourism they can be a significant additional element of the tourist offer.
