Vrnjačka Banja is the seat of the municipality of Vrnjačka Banja. It is located in central Serbia in the Raški district. It is about 200 km from Belgrade, 25 km from Kraljevo and 7 km from Trstenik. It is located between Goč mountain (1216 m) and Zapadna Morava. Vrnjačka Spa is the largest and most famous spa resort in Serbia and beyond and traditionally a very attractive tourist center for rest and recreation. The wider area of Vrnjačka Banja represents the richest and most interesting tourist area in Serbia. It is an area where the Middle Ages meets modern trends at every step. To the north is the tame fertile arable land of western Pomerania, and to the south, the over 100 km long gorge of the Ibar, which roars through the mountain gorges of ancient Dardania, later Raška, where the Serbian state was born. There are also high mountains with famous winter sports centers, among which Kopaonik stands out. Finally, this is the region with the most significant monuments of Serbian medieval culture, especially monasteries with monumental fresco paintings, some of which have been protected by UNESCO as world cultural heritage. The settlement of Vrnjačka Banja has 11,000 inhabitants, and according to the latest census from 2022, the entire municipality of Vrnjačka banja has about 25,181 inhabitants.
