Leposavić - located in the northern region of Kosovo and Metohija, this city is also the center of the municipality of the same name. The city got its name from the village of the same name, from which the natives supposedly arrived. The village is located near Andrijevica. According to tradition, there was one family that moved here fleeing the Turks and then split into four families: Radosavljević, Nedeljković, Jevremović and Milojević. After that, the Milojevics stayed in Leposavic while the other three families continued to settle in Ulje. Later, the Đokovićs and Vasićs arrived, while the Milanovićs settled around the Leposavić river. The remains and traces of the old cemetery church are located above Leposavić on the north side. Built of hewn limestone with meter-high walls, the church was dedicated to the Assumption of St. Mother of God. There was also another church that was dedicated to the feast of Tsveti, which celebrates Christ's entry into Jerusalem. During the Second World War, the ruins of this church served as the basis for a bunker built by the Russians-White Guards and the Germans. The new church in Leposavic was built in 1935 on the foundation of the previous church. That new church is popularly known as the Great Friday Church and is dedicated to the Crucifixion of Christ.
