Krupanj is a town settlement in Serbia in the municipality of Krupanj in the Mačvan district. The first archaeological findings in Krupanj date back to the Neolithic period, in the form of ceramic remains and an ax made of light white stone. At the entrance to the city there are remains of a Roman settlement with fragments of Roman ceramics - the rest of the building better known as Villa rustica. The name Krupanj appears for the first time in the Dubrovnik records from 1417, and Dubrovnik Italian scribes most often wrote it as Crupagn. In addition to mining and wood processing, in the 1960s, the textile industry (large production capacity of viscose fabrics and non-manufacturing goods), production of cardboard packaging, contact lenses, dried fruit, small economy, trade and tourism developed in Krupanj.
