in Boljevac
In eastern Serbia, in the valley of Crni Timok in the Timok Krajina, between the mountain ranges of the Kučaj Mountains, Samanjac, Rtnja, Tumba, Slemena and Tupižnica, lies the municipality of Boljevac. It is surrounded by the municipalities of Sokobanja, Ražanj, Paraćin, Despotovac, Bor, Zaječar and Knjaževac. The first known population and household census dates from 1455, which includes estates on the territory of Vidin Sandžak. In that Turkish census, the names of many villages that still exist today in the territory of Boljevac municipality were found, such as: Bogovina, Ilino, Lukovo, Vrbovac, Jablanica, Dobrujevac... In that census there are churches and monasteries Lapusnja, Lozica, Krepičevac. Boljevac, as a settlement on today's territory, was created after the construction of the tavern of A.Gramanidis in 1762 and the establishment of a small bazaar on the Paraćin-Zaječar road, next to the Arnauta river. The changed socio-economic conditions after the departure of the Turks and the annexation of the Timočka Krajina to Serbia led to the creation of a new urban settlement. According to the latest census from 2022, 3,500 inhabitants live in the Boljevac settlement, and the entire municipality of Boljevac has around 10,373 inhabitants.Would you like your company to be in our business catalogue?
