Žitorađa is a municipality and settlement in southeastern Serbia, located in the Toplica District, not far from the city of Prokuplje. It lies in a mixed flatland and mountainous area with favorable conditions for agriculture and livestock breeding, which form the basis of the local economy. The first written records of the settlement date back to the Middle Ages, and throughout history, Žitorađa developed as a local administrative, commercial, and cultural center. The population is distributed between the central settlement of Žitorađa and surrounding villages.
