in Vladicin Han
Vladičin Han is a town settlement in Serbia in the municipality of Vladičin Han in the Pčinj district. Vladičin Han belongs to the ranks of young settlements - it was first mentioned about 120 years ago. It got its name from the lonely house - the inn, which was located on the "imperial road", in the atar of the village of Kalimance. According to publicist Tatomir P. Vukanović, the house was built in the middle of the 19th century by a certain Stefan Grk. By the way, we are talking about the Greek Stephanos Stephanopoulos who, fleeing from the Turks, found refuge here, building an inn to accommodate caravans. Stefan later sold the inn to Skopje's Metropolitan Paisija, after whose church title (bishop), the inn was named - Vladičin Han. Soon, the settlement that was formed there got the same name. Vladičin Han was formed and is developing in the northwestern part of the Vranjska basin on both sides of the South Morava stream, in the immediate vicinity of the Grdelica gorge. With its spatially influential sphere, this territory represents part of the central area of the territorial core of the Balkan Peninsula. The distance of the city from the interstate border with Macedonia in the south is 67 km, and with Bulgaria to the east 52 km. According to the latest census from 2022, the municipality of Vladičin Han has close to 42,634 inhabitants, while the settlement of Vladičin Han has 8,200 inhabitants.Would you like your company to be in our business catalogue?
