at Stara Planina
Stara planina or Balkan belongs to the system of the Balkan mountains that stretch from the Black Sea in the east to Vrška chuka in the west. The length of this mountain system is 530 kilometers. The highest point of Stara Planina is the peak of Botev (2,376 m above sea level). This mountain is part of a vast mountain range called the Carpathian-Balkan mountain arc. Only its smaller western part is located in Serbia. As a morphological unit, it is bordered by the valleys of Beli and Trgoviški Timok, and Visočica, and to the east it is bordered by the state border of Serbia and Bulgaria. In the meridian direction, it stretches for almost 100 kilometers, while in the comparative direction, the maximum length is about 30 kilometers (Pirotska kotlina-Srebrna glava). Vidlić (1,413 m above sea level) is often added to the Stara planina, whose mountain range belongs to the upper Ponišavlje, however, this is not completely true. Vidlich represents a spatial anticline, which is stretched over the old mountain zone, and therefore, both morphologically and tectonically, it represents a separate entity. The highest point of Stara Planina in Serbia is the peak of Midžor with a height of 2,169 m above sea level. v, and the lowest point is at the exit from the valley of Prlitski Potok (132 m above sea level).Would you like your company to be in our business catalogue?
