Priboj is a town settlement in Serbia in the municipality of Priboj in the Zlatibor district on the river Lim. A city in the southwest of Serbia on the triple border of Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, that is, Republika Srpska and Serbia. Priboj is located on the river Lim, above which high mountains rise. The city of Priboj itself is located at 395 meters above sea level along both sides of the river Lim. South-west of Priboj along the border with Bih is the mountain Bić 1,386 m, southeast of Priboj is the mountain Pobijenik 1,423 m, north of Priboj is the Priboj Crni Vrh 1,155 m, and northeast Banjsko brdo 1,264 m. The highest elevation of the municipality of Priboj is Ober on Mount Javorje, 1,486 m. Priboj was part of Turkey until 1912, then during the First Balkan War it was liberated and annexed to the Kingdom of Serbia. According to the last census from 2022, the municipality of Priboj has about 26,060 inhabitants, while 15,000 inhabitants live in the settlement of Priboj.
