Paraćin is a city in Serbia. It is located at coordinates 43.87° North and 21.41° East. The municipality of Paraćin occupies a part of the rich and fertile Central Pomerania. The territory of the municipality of Paraćin descends from the Kučaj Mountains in the east towards Velika Morava in the west, intersected by the Crnica and Grza rivers. The city itself lies at 130 m above sea level, 4 km away from the river Velika Morava and on the banks of Crnica. At 156 km. is the distance from Belgrade, taking the international highway E-5, south towards Nis. The first known settlement was created in early prehistoric times, 8000 years ago. Various ethnic populations, Tribals, Sarmatians and Romans, live and pass through here intermittently. Soon the Slavs also settled here with settlements from the 11th to the 12th century. According to the census from 1896. the town of Paraćin had 5,486 inhabitants, while the villages of the district had 23,800 inhabitants. According to the latest census from 2022, the municipality of Paraćin has about 46,103 inhabitants, while the city of Paraćin has about 25,000 inhabitants.
