Nova Varoš is a town settlement in Serbia in the municipality of Nova Varoš in the Zlatibor district. Located in the middle of the main road Belgrade - Bar, at an altitude of 1,000 m. Above it rises the Zlatar mountain, 22 km long and 12 km wide, with the highest peak of 1,627 m. According to the latest census from 2022, the municipality of Nova Varoš has about 13,573 inhabitants and covers an area of 584 km², while the settlement of Nova Varoš alone has about 10,000 inhabitants. Nova Varoš was created in the middle of the 16th century. It is related to the name of Skender Pasha the Genoese.
