The municipality of Malo Crniće is one of the smaller municipalities of the Braničevo district according to the number of inhabitants and the area it covers. It occupies an area of 273 km2. The central part of the territory includes the fertile and wide valley of the middle and upper reaches of the Mlava, which gently expands into the Styška plain. Only around the edges are gentle hills, the last slopes of the Homolje Mountains. The relief features are 89 m to 350 m above sea level. According to the last census from 2022, the municipality of Malo Crniće has 19 settlements in which close to 9,433 inhabitants live permanently. about 6,000 are working temporarily abroad, mainly in Western European countries. Just over 1,000 people live in Malo Crniće itself.
