in Mackat
Mačkat is a settlement in Serbia in the municipality of Čajetina in the Zlatibor district. Strictly geographically speaking, Mačkat does not belong to the Zlatibor massif itself, but is located on its northeastern slopes, at the transition to the Užice basin. Nevertheless, judging by the history of Zlatibor and Mačkat and the traditions and culture of the people of Mačka, Mačkat is always counted among the villages of Zlatibor. Today, Mačkat is part of the municipality of Čajetina, which is the main administrative unit of Zlatibor, the successor of the former Zlatibor county. However, Mačkat was not part of the Zlatibor section, but of Užice, precisely because of its geographical position in relation to Zlatibor itself. Mačkat is widely known for its meat products, the most famous of which are Zlatibor prosciutto (sometimes called Užice prosciutto) and roast pork and lamb. The traditional Pršutijada is held in Mackat. One of the oldest churches and one of the oldest schools in Zlatibor is located in Mackat. In addition to Mačkata, the towns of Kriva Rijeka and Bela Zemlja also belong to the Mačkaća region.Would you like your company to be in our business catalogue?
