Kosjerić is a town settlement in Serbia in the municipality of Kosjerić in the Zlatibor district. A place in western Serbia on the banks of the Skrapež River, which rises on the Povlen mountain, at 1,000 meters above sea level. Kosjerić is located at 415 meters above sea level. From the northwest, Kosjerić is surrounded by the Povlen 1,347 m mountain, and from the northeast by the Kozomor 1,007 m and Maljen 1,104 m mountains, on which is the Divčibare plateau, a famous tourist destination for winter and skiing lovers, with ski slopes equipped with a ski lift capable of transporting 700 skiers per hour. The exact time of settlement of the area of the present Kosjerić municipality is difficult to determine. A more noticeable arrival of the population began in the second half of the 18th century, on the eve of the well-known popular uprising known as Kočina krajina. Mostly people immigrated from Montenegro, eastern Bosnia, and from Stari Vlach. The oldest settlers settled Vardu, Taor and Makovište before the others.
