Kać is a settlement and municipality in northern Serbia, located in the South Bačka District of Vojvodina, in close proximity to Novi Sad. The first written records of the settlement date back to the Middle Ages, and throughout history, Kać has developed as a local administrative, cultural, and commercial center. According to the latest census, the Kać municipality has around 15,000 inhabitants. The majority are Serbs, while minority communities, primarily Hungarians and Roma, are present in smaller numbers. The population is distributed between the central settlement of Kać and surrounding settlements. Demographic trends show a stable population in the town center, while rural areas have experienced a slight decline. Kać is known for preserving local traditions, cultural heritage, and customs. Agriculture, small businesses, and artisanal activities form the basis of the local economy, while tourism is gradually developing thanks to the natural beauty of the area and its proximity to Novi Sad.
