Bojnik is a town and municipality in southwestern Serbia, located in the Jablanica District, in the valley of the Veternica River. The first written records of the settlement date back to the Middle Ages, and throughout history, Bojnik developed as a local administrative and trade center. According to the latest census, the Bojnik municipality has around 11,000 inhabitants. The majority are Serbs, while minority communities are present in smaller numbers. The population is distributed between the central town of Bojnik and surrounding villages. Demographic trends show a slight decline in rural areas, while the town center maintains a more stable population due to the local economy. Bojnik is known for preserving local traditions, cultural heritage, and customs.
