in Bela Crkva

Bela Crkva is a town settlement in Serbia in the municipality of Bela Crkva in the South Banat district. According to the 2022 census, the entire municipality of Bela Crkva has about 14,445 inhabitants. The Belocrkvan basin is located between the Vršac Mountains in the north, the Danube in the south and the Carpathian Mountains in the east. It is open to the west - the Pannonian Lowland, which is why it represents its larger bay in relation to it. The winds blew loess and sand in the valley. Loess covers all the lower areas of the basin, while sand is blown up on the western side in the form of long dunes in the southeast-northwest direction. This sand separates Bela Crkva from Deliblatska peščara. Bela Crkva is located in the central part of the expansion of the Nera river, leaning on its northern, higher rim, and further south it descends into the wet and marshy Nera valley. In the vicinity of Bela Crkva, there are six larger and several smaller artificial lakes, created by the exploitation of gravel. The lakes are of different sizes and depths, and gravel is still being extracted from the largest one, so its surface is increasing. The lakes form a good basis for the development of summer bathing and sports-recreational tourism, as well as sport fishing. In the city itself, there is the "City Lake" which has a landscaped beach, auto-camp, restaurant, bungalows... Near Vračev Gaj there is the "Vračevgajsko Lake" which is beautifully landscaped and suitable for camping.
