The area of the municipality of Ada has been suitable for settlement since ancient times. Stone objects, weapons and pottery dating back to the Neolithic period were found and are kept in the Senta City Museum. Barbarian peoples, the Romans, the Huns, and the Avars, who took some Slavic tribes with them, left traces on these territories. The municipality of Ada is located in the central part of eastern Bačka, on the right bank of the Tisza. It is surrounded by municipalities: Senta, Čoka, Novi Bečej, Kikinda, Bečej and Bačka Topola. It occupies an area of 228.6 km² where about 18,000 inhabitants live in 5 settlements: Ada, Mol, Utrine, Obornjača, Sterijino. According to the latest census from 2022, the settlement of Ada has 13,450 inhabitants, while the settlement of Ada has 10,000 inhabitants.
